Panther 2

The Panther 2 is classed in the top end of industrial breathalysers. Featuring Passive and Direct testing, Touch Screen and GPS, the Panther 2 delivers a smart, small and sophisticated package. The touch screen makes for easy navigating through the menu and data entry. Once powered on the Panther is one click away from Passive or Direct test mode. Passive testing is extremely useful when performing tests on multiple subjects simply because it saves the operator using mouthpieces on subjects who return a .000 reading, which saves time, money and the enviroment.
The Panther 2 breathalyzer comes with an extensive software package that allows the operator to download the stored data to a computer. Once on the computer the data can be viewed and stored in the administration program or exported to excel.
Passive Test Mode: Passive test mode is where the subject speaks into the sample port while the breathalyser analyses the breath. The Panther 2 should be held approximately 30mm from the subjects mouth while they count to ten. The result of this test can be either “PASS” or “FAIL”. If the result is PASS there was no alcohol detected on the subjects breath. If the result is “FAIL” the Panther 2’s operator will be instructed to connect a mouthpiece to the breathalyser and perform a Direct test.
NOTE: A precise alcohol reading cannot be obtained from performing a PASSIVE test. Due to variables such as ambient air, wind etc. diluting the sample taken. This is why the Panther 2 provides a PASS/FAIL result for a Passive test, instructing the operator to perform a Direct test only when alcohol has been detected on the breath. The only method to obtain an exact alcohol reading is for the subject to seal their lips around a mouthpiece ensuring the breathalyser only analyses the subjects breath and a specific volume of lung air is measured .
